This was taken with Stan Rose the same morning as his last post. He already filled you in on what great conditions we had between the sunrise and the lupine bloom, but he didn't mention that he made the call that conditions would likely be excellent at sunrise because of his knowledge as a weatherman. He was dead on with his forecast and I wish I could consult with him before every shoot! Thanks Stan!

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Pretty scene Morris. The light here is really nice and the clouds are spectacular. Your composition is well balanced and clean, while the fg lupines are clear and sharp. My only small nit is it looks like there is a bit of sihouetting on the top of the left hill - probably from the blend. I hope this helps. Thanks for sharing.

The clouds are lovely, and I like the way they kind of mirror the line of the horizon. Honestly, the flowers don't really knock my socks off or anything, but I do very much like the way you've arranged the foreground and mid-ground with receding layers of lupine and different colors of grass.

great scene - love the flowers and perspective. the upper left vignetting bugs me just a little..but still a very cool shot.

Awesome scene Morris. I like the verticle comp here but more importantly the sky is awesome as are the foreground flowers.

Never hurts to include a meteorologist in your outing, even if they don't always get it right  Really a lovely scene with a great combo of elements. My only thought is that the middle areas seem a bit bright relative to the rest of the scene.

Thanks so much everyone for your comments.
Tony, thanks and you got that right about having a meteorologist with you. And the diagonal line of lighter grasses had sunlight streaming across them, but I do probably need to pull back the hill on the left somewhat.

as lovely as stan's shot! from my memory, your cameras seem to function identically with white balance and colours being the same! all working well here. the blend is a little noticeable but that's easy enough to fix.

Lovely scene Morris, excellent composition. I agree with Tony, middle area needs some work just a little to bright. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.

It sure didn't hurt to bring the meteoroligist along, Morris. I love the sky and the lupines make for a wonderful FG element.

Fantastic sky, lovely scene and great lighting. What more could you ask for? Print it big and hang it in a prominent space. :toast:

Morris,

Fantastic combination of Earth and Sky. Can't find any faults here or offer any suggestions. Simply a beautiful landscape.

Sounds like you had quite an advantage with a weatherman at your side. I could use that quite often as well. Beautiful shot for sure, but my only critique would be the horizon and your blend. The black line on the edge is quite unnatural. If you managed to take 3 exposures this could be fixed by averaging them...

Actually, i was hoping for the clouds more on the west horizon than the east, but i aint complaining (cloud forecasting is a tricky biz!). This is great, wish i had gotten a vertical with a cleaner fg like this. I really dont see any blend issues, the dark line at top is just the trees. You processed it slighly brighter than me, but thats just because i prefer dark images. A great shoot, and a great shot! :toast:
