Wild Bee Balm

These wildflowers were really blooming in profusion in several areas in Roxborough State Park last Saturday. This one stood out to me. I liked the stem curving up.

5d, 28-135mm w/macro, tripod, cable release,

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Gorgeous work Morris. Excellent composition, beautiful color, perfect dof for my tastes and great presentation and light. No suggestions.

I like the curving stem too Morris. There is just enough separation between your bg and the subject to make it stand out. A lovely little specimen.

Morris, I looked at the thumbnail and thought this image pops. Opened it up and pop it does indeed. The subject glows. I could see darkening the oof brighter greenery curving behind the flowerhead across the image. Just enogh so that the tonal value is not as competitive with the greenery of the flowerhead. Other than that IMHO comment, great capture. :toast:

Beautiful showcase of this Bee Balm Morris, and there's almost a radial blur to this image also which I like.

Morris:
This wildflower is nicely set apart from the green BG. Good details and comp. I like this.

I was hoping youd do some of these (cause i didnt!)--great green-purple contrast! What does w/macro mean anyhow?

Thanks everyone for your comments. :wavey:
Stan, w/macro means it's not a true macro but has that capability at 135mm with a switch that you push to enable the "macro". That allows for close focusing. It's a Sigma lens.
