Evening Deer

While looking for birds I came across this White-Tailed Deer. Took off the TC and hoped I would be steady enough for a sharp shot.

I can't recall the name of the vegetation in the FG, but it's relatively scarce in this area as it only grows in upland dry sand and this is one of the more extensive patches I've seen.

Nikon D300s 300 f4 HH
f/4
1/640s
ISO 1600

Full Frame + sliver of canvas on the right hand side lifted from another frame. Sharpened Deer, NO noise reduction.

- Luke

I like how you captured the glint in the eyes of the deer, very pretty shot.

Very nice capture Luke. Looks like you managed very nice detail. I also like your comp...nothing over the top...straight forward and very effective.

Hey Luke,

Very simple, and the large colour differential between the subject and all the vegetation in the frame make the deer pop out quite nicely. There's a little noise (but only a little) visible in the background (on my monitor), but I noticed you performed no noise reduction on this one - if you wanted to you could deal with the noise in a snap using any of a variety of tools.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

She looks very good. My wish would have been for her to stand so that all four legs were not so straight up and down so the pose would be more fluid. Interesting vegetation.
