I find flora photography to be very difficult. It is true that I have quite a few "pretty flower" pictures. Finding an artistic and different take on flowers is hard for me. Still, I keep trying and have a few that I like and will submit for critque. Please give your suggestions for improvement.

I like the composition enormously, Chad. It took my eye straightaway in the thumb - a marvellous sweep of leaves, the shapes interlocking in a fascinating way. I think it would help to provide some technical details if you would like suggestions for improvements - one thought, however, is that it might, if possible, have been good to see the large bg leaf sharper.

Like your use of lines in this.. I guess a bit more sharpness from front to back wouldn't be out of place., but this is very nice as is :toast: :toast:

This is a very nice composition. I agree with the suggestions about more sharpness - here, there, perhaps everywhere. In this frame everything is equally important and I think it should all be in focus.

Chad: Been off the board the past few days so please excuse my tardiness. Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. I agree with the other folks regarding a bit more DOF but you have a fine subject devoid of blemishes and a very dynamic comp. What struck me initially was the color balance-perhaps a bit too much cyan/blue. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>
