Great Horned owl chick

This chick is now about 5 months old and just starting to get horns, or at least one.
The two remaining chicks like to perch on this post in the shade of a willow tree most afternoons to start the evenings hunt.

Thanks for looking.

The lighting and color scheme here makes this look almost paint like. Very nice!

Neil, a beautiful chick, great pose, intense eyes. Love the BG and bit of green to add interest.
I might move him just slightly to the right - a bit more dead space than is needed, imo.

Nice photo with good oof background, and the willow leaves add a nice touch. The owl's stare is great and very nice feather detail

How wonderful to see this! The one I saw not long ago was well shaded and made a poor photo. So exciting to find one, congrats on a spectacular image of it.

Neil,

Love the background, the soft colors are very appealing. Wonderful pose, light, neat texture in the post and a great view of the eyes. Well done!

Nice one Neil - like the subdued light and pinks in the background. Foliage really helps also.

cheers

A very strong image Neil. The bird looks great and I really like both background and green leaves in the corner. I especially like that this shot is so clean - something I don't have of the species.
