Delicate Floral Flourish

This is from a bush just loaded with blooms and its variegated foliage. I've walked by it many times and never even noticed it, but this one evening it sure caught my eye. Wish I knew the name of it...

D700, 24-70 @ 55, circ.pol., 20mm e.tube, handheld. f 4, 1/320, ISO 800, -1.0 EV.
Focus with the elbows. Evening light after sunset.

Thanks for viewing.

P.S. One of my flower guide books leads me to think this might be the flower of "a dense deciduous shrub" called, Weigela, aka Florida variegata. Can anyone verify?

Whatever it is you've presented it well. Like your choice of focus and the placement in the frame. When you find out what it is I'd love to know. :toast: :toast:

Can't help with identification, but I like it. DOF is excellent, composition very good.

Catherine, I love the great and light movement in the composition, with petals ranning away towards all the angles and making a spiral running downwards beyond the background. Splendid.
The only thing I know about the ID, is that this is not a weigela; at least not of the types that we have here.
Take care.

Catherine: Aptly titled and superbly captured. Really nice DOF/POF choice and a marvelous color palette. Top notch shot. >=))>

Catherine, I love that film like grain and the light-lighter tones on a crazy good "flowing" photo :toast: . About the only thing I don't like here is that the copyright does not carry my name

Lovely, delicate pastels, Catherine, with a so effective touch of sharpness around the centre - a truly delightful image.

Catherine, good job. The detail is where it should be and everything else falls into place in this delicate image.
