Nikon D300 F5 1/1600 ISO 640 Nikon 70-200 with 1.4 teleconverter @ 280mm

This little one came out of the brush looking for Mom and found me. She has put the brakes on as you can see. Mom was quickly located and life was good again. Another from my work in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.

Comments and critiques are appreciated. I try to learn with each post.

Nice shot Andrew, another possible title would be " state of shock " I like where you placed the subject in the frame and the surrounding vegetation. The only minor nit I see is something you couldn't do anything about and that's the shadow on it's back. Looks good though even with the harsh lighting. :toast:

Really like the alert pose and the raised tail. Could just take a little off the bottom.

I agree you could take a sliver off the bottom. This is a cute but very alert looking fawn. You might try to selectively raise the brightness on his back, but not so much as to look unnatural. Where was the mother?

I like the selective focus on the subject. The body language really fits your explanation of the situation, great story. Very high on the cuteness meter! :toast:
