Almost Grown

Another of the chicks that have been my neighbors now for the last several weeks. This guy is almost fully fledged (I think) and he and his siblings are now moving further from the nest checking things out. This is a fairly large crop, about 39% full frame.

I've also posted a series of images I've captured of the chicks over the last several weeks on the forum.

Thanks for looking.

Chuck, Nice light on the bird and I like the head turn, your composition and the perch. To my eye the head seems slightly soft. I'm betting that you worked pretty hard getting this youngster against as many leaves and as little bright sky as possible. I really enjoyed your series over in Bird Photography.

Excellent, Charles. You're doing a great job getting these against that bright bg. :toast:

Very nice pic Charles, I like the bacground and the perch. Beautiful detail on the head, also like the eye.

Chuck,

I agree with the comments made by Ron. The BG is a little tough even though it looks like you did all you could.

Chuck:
Neat capture. Looks as if he is practicing his "fierce" look. You did a good job of "exposing for the subject" rather than the BG. Nice detail throughout the bird.

Chuck,

I like the regal pose and the nice view of the bill and eye. I agree with Ron D's evaluation of this image. It must be great to have them so close by

The picture looks three dimensional to me. The background provides alot of depth. God I love raptors. :toast:
