Hey everyone! It seems like forever since I've last posted here. My life's been very busy and I haven't even been out shooting since mid May! Those photos still need to be processed, so here is a photo I made in the Czech Republic back in February.

Tech:
Canon 5D2
Canon 70-200mm f/4 @ 200mm
1/640 sec at f/8
Converted to B&W with Nik Silver Efex Pro

Sweet, Tom. What a great comp and the monochrome is perfect for making it even more graphic.

I love the graphic nature of images like this one here. There is an almost-symmetry to the arrangement of the trees that is off just enough to create a lot more interest than if they were all identical. And the sky behind the trees is surreal.

One of my personal nitpicks (sorry) about photos is when there is obvious haloing, and unless there is some trick of light in the clouds, I see strong haloing around the trees. If you could fix that, I think it would be perfect. As is, the halos jump out at me and lessen the intended impact of an otherwise great photo.

Powerful comp Tom, Is there any noise in those clouds or it's due to the compression?

Best regards

Thanks for sharing. This is just so beautiful. I like the 'clouds' behind the trees, it gives the impression of being in the heavens.

I like the simplicity of this composition. Nothing seems crowded--well
composed and a good B&W rendition.
