Dickcissel Singing

Not the most attractice perch, but I liked the singing pose and sharpness. I never really paid much attention to sparrows and other field species until this spring after the warblers moved north. I had no idea how many birds live out in the middle of fields.

Wonderful capture, Bryan. Can't get much sharper than that; background color is supreme and works really well with the colors of the bird. The only negative would be the perch, but there really isn't much you can do about that.

The perch at least adds a splash of color - there are much worse perches out there.

The detail is impressive and the open beak is icing on the cake.

Fine singing pose. The perch color unabashedly says "man made", but is a rather nice contrast to the rest of the image. Sounds like you discovered a whole new aspect to avian photography right under your nose, so to speak. Wish we had this species!

Love the singing pose, fine dteails & sharpness. I don't have a problem with the perch, I think the bright blue adds a touch of whimsy to the image.

ah, Bryan, I think I would be very tempted to modify the color of the perch. Easily doable in PS.

Detail is lovely.

You cant hide the perch so I would just go with it, as I think its more of a problem just showinhg such a little part of it. Bird itself realy is excellent.

Wonderful detail and colors, always nice to see a bird singing away, the larger version was a pleasure to view.
