Looks like I needed to darken it a tad. The bg is a bit light along the right side. See repost.

The repost does the trick. Love the lighting, in particular. I've never used the Nik filters and am wondering how much of what I'm seeing in this image is due to their use....curious as I am considering getting the software after seeing what you and others are posting here.
Nice work!

Thanks, Craig and Mark. Mark, I've only recently been uing the Nik filters, but like what they do. Basically, with this image, I used the Darken/Lighten filter to draw out highlughts in the leaves, the Midnight filter, to darken the stem and the edges of the leaves, and the Skylight filter to add some warmth to the flower itself. I like that they are adjustabe, and you can add as much or as little as you like. Since I'm new at it, I tend to go a little light on their use. There are around 50 filters included, and I've only begun to scratch the surface by using 3 or 4 of them. I find that I'm not changing the basic image that much, but that their use enhances what I captured. I found them to be a good investment. Hope this helps answer your question. Steve Kahn has used them quite a bit, too and may be able to add his comments and thoughts.

Kathy, I like the light effects you have selected. A night visit to a garden with led lights spotlighting here and there creates the same enchanting mood. Very special. Ken S

This is my favorite of this series, Kathy. Love the vertical orientation and placement of the leaves.

Kathy, another beautiful presentation, especially the repost. The lighting on the greenery is spectacular! Mysterious. Wonderful. I see a couple of beauty marks on the upper most bud one on the tail, the other on the head. I think they might be bite marks. easy to retouch. A wonderful addition to a series or collection. :toast:
