Through the tall grass

Mark III 1D, 600mm w/ 1.4 ext, ISO 400, 1/800th, f/5.6, natural light

Another photo from the same shoot as an earlier one I posted of riding horses through the deep grass. Again it shows more girl (my daughter) and grasses than horse. The idea was to convey the romantic aspect of horse riding on a summer day, and the connection it holds with the natural world.

Comments appreciated.

Being a horse lover I'm liking this a whole lot! Brings fond memories back of when we rode our horses in fields like this. Your daughter is very beautiful...exotic even. Pretty horse too!

Peter: I like this very much. It portrays a wonderful feeling. The tall grasses are great. Your daughter looks a tad posed in this image. Overall, I still like this a lot.

Pamela, thank you, that it appeals to horse lovers is good to hear.

Keith thanks for the positive feedback. Interesting note as to "Your daughter looks a tad posed in this image"

I was out shooting something else at the time from a blind. They had no idea I was even around and I didn't know they planned to trail ride through there. It was just one of those moments when the sun, grass etc all came together and I took the photo.

I used to get comments all the time about my good posture while riding. I think this is just a relaxed, balanced position for your daughter and her horse.

Beautiful image Peter. Great mood for my tastes. My Dad was a horseman and your daughter's posture as well as the image immediately reminded me of him. Sweet image - even for us non equestrians.

Great shot--much better than the previous one! Light couldnt get any better. And it helps that your daughter's a real looker!
