ice monster

two years down the line, i am re-visiting some older photographs and processing them. this is from my trip up kilimanjaro in tanzania two years ago. we saw many things but i hadn't expected to encounter this fellow trapped in deep in the ice of the Furtwängler Glacier ...

thanks for looking; your reactions from staring in the eye of the monster appreciated!

d300, 80-200mm, no filters. slight crop & contrast bumped just a touch using TK's luminosity masks (but colour otherwise left alone ...).

Whoa! A "feets don't fail me now" photo, if I ever saw one!

Fantastic Stuart. Love the pattern on its own. The fact that it resembles a troll-like face makes it all the better.

Great eye to spot this one, Stuart. It's abstract and surprisingly appealing given the fearsome creature staring back.
