Mid-Air Collision

A Brahminy Kite and a Black Kite locked on to the same flying termite and then ...... BANG !!!

The flying termite is visible as a blurred patch in front of the talons of the Kite on top. I have used a relatively slower shutter to get the motion blur. This is best viewed in large size

Ouch. Great shot, great timing. I like the degree of blur you've obtained in this shot. Positioning of the birds in the frame also works well for me.

OOps. Rare moment captured very well. The slight blur of the one kite enhances the feeling of the collision. Did they both fly away from this unfortunate event? Reminds me of some video footage I saw a few years ago of two skydivers colliding mid air.

@Gary - Birds are masters of air unlike us :) These collisions don't hinder them in any way .. They flew away and continued the termite hunt after this :)

An interesting shot. I typically like these blur shots but here imho it detracts as I can't really see what's going on and I think I would have liked it better if the action were frozen with a fast shutter speed, but that's personal taste. :toast:
