While I was photgraphing the Columbine flowers in Yankee Boy Basin, Colorado, this pika watched from his pointed vantage among the lichen-covered scrabble.

Sharpness is just awesome and that little mini-peak is a fantastic perch. I'd be thrilled to have this.

Really beautiful image! These guys aren't easy to photograph since they seem to be constantly scrambling about. Nice BG too :wavey:

I suppose a case could be made for cropping a bit off the left to make the image less centered but otherwise this is perfect. Love the background, face is in focus and damn but that critter is cute! :toast:

Very, very nice Doug!!! I love that perch as well as the BG, selective focus and clarity of the subject. Is this Full Frame? I understand the wish for cropping off the left, but that would bring the long whiskers too close to the edge or cut them off, which is not what you would want. A bit more space to the right would be a better way to improve the comp, but all in all I find that a very minor nit. :toast:

Thank you for the comments and suggestions. This was taken in landscape orientation, so I have a little left to right leeway to add some back to the right side.

I like the composition and fact that you can see both eyes/ears. Do the feet look small to anyone else? Great shot !
