North Rim

This image was taken last summer at Cape Royal. It has become one of my favorite vistas points on the north rim of the Grand Canyon for sunset.

C&C welcome Please see large version. Thanks

The composition and exposure both look good, its too bad that both the small and large versions are so pixelated. Would love to see a repost of this image!

I wouldn't mind a bit more highlight control in the cloud above the sun but overall this is a gorgeous catch, the light on the foreground being particularly nice.

odd pixelation in original post! re-post is much better but sky in re-post is more blown. the bottom 2/3 are gorgeous, the sky needs a little exposure balance.

Beautiful warm light Kyle. Great foreground with the bush included. Well balanced.

Much better! I agree that more highlight control around the sunset would be nice, but overall I think this is very nice!

I really like this - spectacular foreground! The re-post is much better...I think part of the problem could be haze/smoke? It seems like there is always something burning up on the north rim in the summer.

Great scene and the repost is an improvement. Nice light and color, too.

Classic beauty. I swear I tried to shoot the same plant 20 years ago. Looks like it's grown a bit, but not much.

What a view! I love the light here, and a wonderful composition. The repost is much better, though you've lost some highlights in it somehow.

Kyle,

Looks like you got your compression issue corrected - took me a couple of looks anyway to notice, but it was there certainly in the sky.

This is a grand view of the canyon. Even though the sun is close to the edge of the frame, I'm really liking the composition. It's amazing how the green plant in the foreground really adds to the scene. In fact I think the foreground rock might be too dominant without it. As it is, beautifully composed. Oh, the light and colors are gorgeous as well.

The repost is much better! A great shot overall. Aside from the highlites mentioned( they don't bother me too much), my only nit is the top of the mesa/rock formation being about even with the distant horizon. Not much you could do about that I imagine.
