Black bellied WD

Been so busy and it has been so hot I just have not gotten out much. From this morning. These guys are about all that has been flying for me, so I take what I can get. I like the light and the BG on this image. Some may find it a bit tight on top and maybe other places, but I was going for max details. As always thanks for looking and please view the larger image for the best detail. The 720 image is not processed for correct sharpness or presentation.

22 commentsThis is wonderful. The upper 2/3 is my favrorite type of background (as I mentioned in another post tonight) and the detail here is excellent for a static shot, much less in flight. Love the wing position and your relatively tight crop really shows off that nice detail. I don't think it's too tight up top at all with the bird's body low in the frame. Great shot to come back with.

It is so good to see you back, I have missed your images. I have no issues about your comp, it shows the wonderful details so well and does not feel too tight to me. Love the light, the upswept wings and great eye contact. The background doesn't bother me because the duck stands out well from it.
Very well done.
