Water lily daydream

This comp made me think that this water lily had his head in the clouds daydreaming of soaring up there.

5d, 28-135mm, tripod, polarizer, remote shutter release,

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thank you for looking,

Love the creative composition Morris and the concept. Great reflection of clouds, sky and flower. The bloom looks perfectly sharp to me in the reflection while the source looks a little soft on my monitor. It may just be me or the monitor - see what the others think. Ideally, I guess I would prefer that the entire image was as sharp as the fg reflection. I have no idea, if that would have been possible under the shooting conditions though. I like the image very much as posted.

Morris,

To me, this is wonderful creativity! Great eye and fabulous use of the skies reflection and dare I say, negative space? Day dream is a great description as this does invoke a feeling of laying down in a field looking up to a blue sky with billowing clouds... just day dreamin'....

My only suggestion, and this is purely a personal choice and not a nit, but I was thinking of a crop from a top, coming down at least half-way down through the softer lily pads up top. I think a simple crop like that would even accentuate that dreamy-sky feeling. Just a thought, but certainly beautifully captured as is.

Morris: Reminds me of Nymph Lake or Cub Lake in RMNP. I'm intrigued by Lon's crop suggestion. I was going to counsel a crop from the bottom to 4:5 ratio to eliminate some of the reflected sky. Great find and a thought provoking image. >=))>

The reflection is wonderful and, like Lon said, really conveys a "dreamy sky" sort of feeling. Very good composition. I could see experimenting with a bit of a crop off the top.

Morris:
Well seen and excellent comp. It is intriguing that the reflection is sharper. Love the emptiness in the lower half. Dreamy for sure.

Fascinating image, Morris ! I love the sky/water reversal and the sky/cloud tones, and the dof for me gives just the right focal inet high up the frame. Very creative !!!!
