I took this during a recent trip to Yellowstone. The foreground seems a bit empty...it would have been nice to have some bison wandering through but none cooperated. Comments are appreciated.

Hi Ernie,

Excellent stark image from Yellowstone. The fg is a little empty, but that's Yellowstone for you. I really like your processing with the soft, natural colors of the landscape.

Really like the composition Ernie with the diagonals of the river and the grassland. Don't mind the "empty" foreground as your image shows the wide open spaces of the Lamar nicely.

Ernie,

Looks like this is your first post to ES&S so I'd like to welcome you here and to NPN! This is a very nice first post and a well done landscape from Yellowstone. It may lack some super dramatic element of light, but still this is composed beautifully and captures the land perfectly. I think the draw of the water leading the viewer in to the scene works nicely and I like how you placed the mountains and the landscape in a 1/3 - 2/3 (rule of thirds) composition. The dusting of snow on the mountains is a nice touch to the scene too.

Welcome aboard. We look forward to your images and for your participation in the forums and galleries.

Nice comp with the water feature in just the right place. Would need to see it larger to judge it better Ernie.
Perhaps a bit more brightness/contrast at the lower 2/3rds, just a thought.
Thank you for your comment on my portrait,
Well done :toast:
