Roadrunner juvenile

I'm not getting much else in the way of birds lately except for the roadrunners nesting in our local cemetery. This juvenile is the older of the two that hatched, and is able to hunt independently while its sibling is still begging the parents. He hopped up onto an old headstone to survey the cemetery and check me out I think :). 7D, f/8, ISO 400, 1/800, 322 mm with small crop

Great shot Rob, like the pose, color and detail of the bird with nice bg. Just would like if you could town down the brightness of the rock some. :toast:

Rob,

I like the pose of the roadrunner and being able to see the feet. I also like the light in the bird's eye. I agree with Kenneth about toning down the brightness of the tombstone.

Never thought to look for this species in a cemetary, I'll have to keep that in mind.

Very cool, Rob. I like the nice view of the eye and the good look at the plumage. I think just a bit more dof would have been nice. :toast:

Sweet shot of this RR Rob. Love the pose and the comp. I too think the brightness of the tombstone could be decreased just a bit.

Cool shot and nice DOF. That's great that these live near you. I've never seen one.
