Double Exposure...redo

I liked the peacock feather w/these blossoms which I posted a bit ago. But, that photo was three exposures ...which created an underexposed layer and had a lot of problems...noise, blotchy, and misaligned blur. I wanted something better to blow up and hang.

This is a double exposure of much the same composition...sorry for the 'oh, yeah...I've seen this already.'

Flowers @f11 and 1/125 sec, then feather w/black b/g @f8 and 1/2.5 sec (indoors w/cable/tripod). I like the results better. I also included smaller sized blooms.

Zeiss 35 mm, Nikon D300

ps...this did suffer from jpeg compression (64% slider) needed to stay under the threshold 500mb and 200mb.

Ken,

This is beautiful for my tastes. The colors make me think of florescent minerals under ultraviolet light and the iridescence of the feather certainly adds to that impression. Striking image.

Ken: I like how the feather fills in the space between the phlox and the overall color palette. Wonderful concept and superb execution. >=))>

Ken, I'm with Bill, the feather fills the empty space beautifully, and the colors are fantastic. Excellent detail and presentation.

I'm sure I never would have thought of doing something like this....glad you did as it works very well. The color is fantastic. At first glance I thought it seemed a little heavy on the left half but trying to crop from the right doesn't seem to work very well. Nice stuff!

Ken:
Yes, this is really much better than the previous. The FG and BG is more balanced and the colors of the flowers are more saturated. :toast:
