On the same morning that I found the EAKI in June in Kane Valley, B.C., this YEWA was singing away.

1D MkIV, 500mm + 1.4X, 1/1000 @ f8, ISO400, Beanbag on car window, morning light, natural perch.

I find this specie's coloration so challenging to capture, you really nailed it! Really stands out against the olive background, love the gradation in the background as well. The open beak singing pose is perfect. Congrats KC!!!

The OOF background in a complementary color makes the shot, KC. Among the boreal species, this is one of my favorites, and you've done a great job on it.

Beautiful lighting, KC: I like how we see details in the shadow and in the lit side of the bird as well. Also, teriffic contrast of the bird with the background.

Beautiful looking bird. I've never found it easy to bring out the fine detail in yellow birds but this looks a treat. Beautiful lighting has helped in this respect and you couldn't have chosen a better background to show off the bird. Really excellent. Graham
