Halloween Pennant

Been shooting these pennants last couple of days. Wanted to see how close I could get, and this is the result. The DF was in the obelisk postion trying to keep cool. I wish I could have diffused the sun a bit avoiding the blown spot on the eye. Lost alot of deatil in the eye with the resizing.

Excellent detail, Doug. The background is great and I like the way the backlighting illuminates the body hairs. Just one small nit, the hotspot on the back of the left eye, easily tamed.

Doug:
Well done for getting so close to the DF. The details of the thorax and wings are fantastic. The details in the eyes are better seen in the larger version. Taming the hotspot will make this image rock. :toast:

Nice close-up, Doug. The brighter BG (sky?) is a bit unfortunate as it would be neat to see this against a more uniform BG. The bright area on the eye is not too objectionable and could be easily worked on.

Doug, good detail of the eyes and wings in a difficult light angle
