Southeastern Utah

This was taken at 1:25 pm so I guess it qualifies for this week's challenge. Each time I look at this I am struck by what appears to be an optical illusion because at times I feel like I am looking up a hill when actually I am looking down.

D70, handheld, f11, 1/500, ISO 320, 18-200mm VR at 44mm, 94% of original frame. Larger version provided.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments & critiques. Thank you for looking.

The high sun defnitely eliminated the shadows here--which is probably a good thing for this scene. Looks good---i like the sinewy path down the middle. All it neeeds is some wide winged bird soaring overhead

I thought I was looking up at first glance also! The brain seems to insist on the top of image being "up". I love the very natural colors and superb detail (especially in the large version). An interesting scene and very well shot, Mia!

I really like this. Composition, color, even the light really combine to make this work well as a semi-abstract.
