I found this neat little ground cover around Maggie Valley this year, and thought it was pretty...even in the mid-day sun.

Great environmental portrait with angled positioning for the group of flowers. Light is a bit harsh, may be a polarizer would have made some difference.

A nice patch of florascape. Harsh lighting but relatively well controlled.

I like this image Robert. The textural and color contrast between the flowers and the fg rocks is interesting to me. I also like the dark shadows and somewhat washed out colors in this case. I don't know why we should prefer the light on the ends of the day to any other. I admit that I do but I wonder how much of it is conditioning. I find the mood of this, mid-day light included, very appealing.

Nice job with the light Bob, I also like the color and comp, you controlled this pretty little scene very well.

Hi Robert,
Interesting contrast between the rocks and the flowers. I think the lighting is harsh in this example and perhaps there's a way to tone it down some. One suggestion would be to use a graduated or even a black overlay, selecting soft light and dialing back the opacity by at least 40% or whatever appears to your eye.
Cheers,
Carol

Nicely done even with the harsh light.

Robert: Harsh light comments always puzzle me a little. As if you didn't notice it at the time I do think a polarizer is a good choice in these circumstances. I like your comp and the scene is a delight. Nicely done.>=))>
