Eastern Screech Owl

A coworker has had 4 juvenile Eastern Screech Owls in her trees for several summers now. I made the trip over to her house last month and found the birds to be fairly cooperative, though finding open shots through the heavy cover was tough. 7D, ISO 800, 1/60, f/8, 120mm with small crop

Wonderful image!
Those eyes are mesmerizing. Fine detail and habitat.
The perspective makes this little guy seem much larger than he really is.
I'd consider dampening or cloning out the bright spots above the owl.

This is so beautiful at just 120mm. It must have been a really cool experience. I love the lighting on the eyes and the alert pose.

Wow, love the eyes Rob, They steal and won't let go of my attention. I think it would be worth it to tone down the bright spots in the background though. Love it, :toast:

Looks like you got through the foilage cover okay here, and well worth it. Those amazing eyes steal the show.

Great eye contact and I like the way the green in the eyes match the leaves.
