Dawn Patrol
by Neil Rossmiller
Watching this lioness run up this Acacia tree put any illusions I might have had about lions poor ability to climb trees to rest. She spent about a minute up there and came down just as easily as she went up. Unfortunately, it was about ten minutes before the light got really good. Oh well!

6 commentsI love everything about this, the tree, the pose of lioness, the clouds in the sky, the setting and composition !
I would love to see colour version too, assuming that it was taken 10 minutes before sunrise.

This is a VERY nice animalscape (and documents and debunks that poor climbing ability myth quite well!!). I think this has the potential to make a great print!
I know nothing about how much pushing around you can do with the 30D files, but if the image were mine I think I'd experiment with bringing out a little more shadow detail in the foreground.
Neat scene - thanks for sharing this...
cheers...

If this were mine, it'd be haning on a wall!
