Heres another shot from my Glacier NP trip. This was taken from Logan Pass. Since it was mid-day I already had b&w in mind. I used my new Hoya 9stop ND filter to get this 20sec exposure to add mood. In post processing I added a hint of glow to give smooth textures on the sky and water. I also added a hint of warm temperature to have hint of sepia.

Tech;
Canon 5D II
Canon 17-40mm
f/22 20sec

Heres my previous post from this trip: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=153466&CGISESSID=f6b350fba0481abea2442c3281e07013&u=3379

Thanks for looking!

A moody and powerful presentation. The hint of sepia works well too.

Great movement with the clouds and the water. Add the drama of the different tones and textures. Very nice B&W Chikku.

Chikku,

It seems that every mountain range has the same creek! :wink: Seriously... this is quite impressive. The choice of b&w was a great one and the processing is excellent too. The long exposure has worked wonderfully for both the sky and the water. The only suggestions I have would be to mask out the glow effect in the mid ground snow fields - very minor.

Not sure how this would change the mood, but you might consider brightening the rocky shores along the creek and even the mountain a bit. But that could be more of a personal interpretation than anything.

In the end, I'm liking this very much.

Thought this would get more comments when I first saw it over the weekend. I think it's great. Definitely feels a bit processed, but I like the effect of your processing and the ND.

Very dramatic. I generally prefer water speeds a bit faster but here I think it serves to emphasise the hard edged and gritty appearance of those granitic spires and peaks, especially in the presence of softened clouds.
