Spotted this fawn and one other near a road, but standing in these flowers. Was able to get a few quick shots, before they slipped back into the trees.

Canon T1i,
1/640 @ F-8 ISO 400
Canon EF-S 55-250 @ 250
HH IS on, spot meter.

Appears to be nice setting, but light has been quite unfavourable and purple flowers are not blending well with the scene.

Hi John.
The fawns placement in this image is very pleasing, I think the OOF right side vegetation competes to strongly for attention, however. I might try a more square crop, loosing the right side and maintaining the fawns position in the frame. I would also look at killing the color (not cloning) of the oof blue flowers at the bottom because, without the color on the right side they lose the connection of color they have now. Just a thought.
Well seen and captured.

John, the setting amongst the flowers does make this shot special and interesting. Yet I do understand the comments made about the blue flowers, although I am not very much bothered by the color. That many of these are very OOF is more of a nit IMO. The placement of the subject, its pose and the exposure (and thus your spot-metering; did you meter of the fawn's coat?) are excellent.

Nicely composed and the flowers are an excellent enhancement. The only suggestion I have would be to experiment very delicately with some selective curves on the shadow side of the fawn. You also might be able to bring out whatever reflective detail is in the eye. Thanks for sharing!

I like that she appears to be in an open space in this field of flowers,
