Mountain Reflections
by Richard Waas
I photographed this scene as I was traveling from Montrose, CO to Aspen CO. Coming around the turn in the road revealed this magnificent view. Canon 5D MK II, EF24-105mm f/4.0-5.6L IS USM, 45mm, ISO 200, f/16.0, 1/160 sec, -0.67 EV, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Comments Welcome

7 commentsGood take on what is known as the Raggeds... I have seen this view a few times on this lovely CO 133 from Delta back to Basalt, but I've never photographed it. Although the image is compositionally competing, this is a good lesson on how to make reflections work for you.
Do you have any other images of the area to share?
This is quite an excellent "reflectionscape." I think you did very well in composing this and the reflection is amazing; hard to believe such a mirrored reflection in what appears to be mid-day some time where I would expect a little breeze or something.
As far as the processing goes, I think this looks pretty good. Perhaps what some other folks have commented on would be a sharpening issue? I'm only guessing, but maybe a little heavy on the USM? But I don't think you're off by very much. This is a very nicely captured image.
