Green Tree Frog

Green Tree Frog at the Barataria Preserve. I like how a little bit of sun highlighted his face a bit. I used a Canon 7D with a 300mm f/4L IS and a 1.4x convertor to blur the background. ISO 400 f/5.6 @ 1/200 sec.

Nice detail and light, David. Any chance you got this as a vertical comp?

David:
The bg in this one is really nice and clean. The pose is excellent and the frog looks contented. Wish for slightly more DOF to get the nose tip in as well. A vertical comp would be great.

Here it is in a vertical comp. I shot this one at f/9 so the nose of the frog in in focus. The plant he was one kept moving around and so were all the plants above him so I wasn't able to get the light shinning through onto his head.

Very cool David. I too would be interested in seeing this as a vertical. Cool perch and background.

David - I like the use of the sunlight as well Call me crazy but I also like the thorny stick your green tree frog model is resting on - it just adds something to your photograph. I also like the OOF - BG it brings in more detail of the frog and the sunlight hitting his face. - Great Job on getting the whole frog in focus !!!
