Some of the layers in this image have been made using Studio Artist 4.0; I had not used the older version for years but decided to try the update. It arrived last week and it is a somewhat complicated software to use, and this is my first experiment with it.

That background texture is wonderful as well as the color palette. Sets off the sharp foreground subjects nicely. Like this one alot! :toast:

Love the composition and the colors in this Mike. I also like the clarity/detail in the birds and nest contrasted with the sort of digital brush stroke in the rest of the image. Beautiful work.

Mike, The BG is fantastic. I really like the illustrated look to the birds and their positions in the frame. Very nicely done.

Wow!! Beautiful composition and colors. This works well for me...I like the brush strokes of the b/g. Easy to see this on a card-stock or enlarged and hung as a metallic print!

 The first time you used it? Oh, my... Looks like "first time an expert" to me, so I'll be looking forward to more images from you using this software.

Just interested: compared to PS, how complex is it and what's the learning curve like?

The user guide for Studio Artist 4.0 is almost 600 pages, which is why I did not read it. It has thousands of texture choices which makes it somewhat time consuming when you start to use it, but when you settle on the favorites it's easier. This version that I have is somewhat a beta copy, when the final version is complete it will come with instructional viceo's. So far, I am happy with the program. You can go to www.synthetik.com for more information.
