445 - TP Fall Colors #3

Fall colors of the alpine tundra of Thompson Pass, Alaska (2005). It's like a big artist's palette up there in September and it's especially beautiful right after the rain breaks up, the sun comes out and the vegetation is still wet which makes the colors that much richer and brighter.

Sony DSC-F707, ISO-100, f6.3, 1/125

Man you're just a weekly challenge machine last couple weeks, Gary
This is just stunning--real purty shot!

Amen to what Stan says! I envy you the shots you have of different seasons. I have stood right there in Summer and never found this rich a color. Good work!

Thanks, Stan. I have a lot of fun with the challenges because it makes me dig through those old archives looking for something that fits. Invariably I'll find photos I forgot I had or never bothered to process plus it brings back memories.

Phil, timing is everything. It seems there is about a two week window at best where the colors are spectacular (if you can see them through the fog) then it turns brown or it snows whichever comes first.
