Marms Lake Sunset + Repost

I recently finished a 5 day backpacking trip in the Bridger Wilderness in the Wind River Range of Wyoming. This is an amazing area with beautiful rocks, lakes and light.

Here is the first of a few images from the trip. The thunderstorms built up right at sunset which made for some dramatic light.

Nikon D80, Nikkor 12-24 dx lens.
0.8 sec at f/16, ISO 100, polarizer.

All C&C are appreciated. Thanks.

Beautiful sky Scott. I also like the touch of red on the peaks...although it does seem a bit too red.

Amazing light, got to love that little hot point of cloud mimicking the shape of a mountain top.

Great light on the rocks Scott. I think the 50/50 split works with the reflection. The LRC seems a bit barren, but I'm not sure how it could be improved without changing the overall composition (which I like).

Beautiful light and colour. I especially like the red on the peak on the right although it does seem a bit too saturated.

The glow and the colors in this beautiful symmetrical scene are spectacular. Very dramatic. Very beautiful, Scott.

Wonderful light!!! Nice shot! :toast:

I would pull out a tad more shadow detail.

Thanks to everyone for all of the feedback. I really appreciate it. Here is the revised version using the some of your suggestions. I lightened up the shadows a bit, darkened the sky slightly and reduced the saturation a bit (mostly in the reds). I also added a border to the photo. Please let me know if these changes are an improvement.

Better! Maybe a hair more!

I would keep the red.

Ha ha Mark! Thanks for the feedback. Here is what I hope will be the final version. I agree it looks better with the reds and I lightened the shadows a little more.

I like the second post. the colors and reflections are such mirror images, it's hard to tell up from down. I like that...Makes me look more closely
