Here is a shot from a few days ago. This young osprey flew by and took a good look at me as it went by. That is what I like about this image. The great eye contact and look at both eyes. My only wish was that at least some part of its feet were visible. Oh well. Please view larger image for best detail. Thanks

Ron, you are right, the eye contact is what makes this image for sure!! Great details and sharpness too! Congrats!

Great eye contact - it makes my happy that surfing the web is works only one way (at least I hope so).

Wonderful shot with great eye contact. I think the wings in the down position work really well in this case.

Superb, Ron. Obviously, the eye contact makes the shot, but the other details are very nice, too. My only suggestion would be for the wing tips to be a little sharper, but I'm unsure how much tighter your aperture would have to be...

Now that's eye contact. Excellent flight photo, don't get much sharper than this! The body really utilizes the frame well, sort of a rectangle within a rectangle.

Great shot! Were you up high or was he flying low?

As far as getting at eye level with this bird. I was up on top of a levee and it was flying rather low. So a little of both.

The eye contact makes it that little bit special.
It was probably your 500mm f4 that caught it's eye
Well captured.

Luke said it best Ron, you really did "nail this shot". I'm not missing those feet one iota. The eye contact is superb. And 90% of full frame, without TC - don't know how you do it. One of your very best IMO!

Forget the feet. I don't even think about them while staring at those eyes. Really like this, Ron.
