Criss, Cross

Man, haven't been in here in a long time. This is one of my more recent macros, taken maybe a month ago. Its the new flush of fronds on a cycad in my backyard. A summer storm had come through and left me with drops to work with.

Thanks for looking,
Paul

What a marvelous photograph. From the thumbnail I couldn't figure out what it is - an aerial view of farm fields? - looking upwards at a tall building?

Great texture and the criss-cross pattern caused by the light and shadow is terrific. The droplet puts it over the top.

Congratulations on a fine piece of work. :toast:

Just grand and those magical drops of water and sliding all over the place, Paul.

One tiny, tiny, tiny nit and that's the hardly visible downward diagonal of the frond at the very bottom of the image. I think this is exciting.

Cheers,

Carol

Nice shot Paul. Great details and super job of capturing the light, which has been the hallmark of your landscapes IMO. Looking forward to seeing more of your macros. :toast:

What a composition Paul and if you had placed the drops yourself I don't think the placement would have been better. Really fine photography.

Great light, Paul.

I like the fine texture that repeats the larger one.

Fantastic, Paul. The lighting, details, patterns...all great. The droplets balancing act is of course the "aha" catch...excellent.
