This is a flower of the Greater Stitchwort (Stellaria holostea). Althought the name says 'great' it is still a pretty small flower. I like the anthers on their thin stems set in a circle. Did remind me of a carousel.

D300, Sigma105, 1/400, F5.6, tripod. :wavey:

I like this Ellen, especially the mood. The dof and position in the composition work extremely well for me. Simple and beautiful. No suggestions.

NIce work Ellen. I like the way the anthers almost seem to be floating. :toast:

Ellen, It's always a pleasure to view your work. I think I might have titled this image, "In Quiet Stillness." I think it's an excellent mood shot and it may sound silly but the photo inspired me to sit here and count anthers and petals. Makes me wonder if all flowers have an equal number--obviously something I never learned but then I never took a botany class per se.
I especially like the angle from which you captured the flower and the way the petals angle out from the center; I also like the dark OOF stems in the BG; they too appear to radiate out from the center.
Nice job.

This feels like "joy" reaching out for me! And yes, I will embrace it! Such soft luminosity and color. Just a marvelous image! :toast:

Very appealing, Ellen. Besides the carousel look you've achieved, the bits of fallen pollen add interest as well.

Wonderful, Ellen :toast: . Like the warm setting for the photo and I agree with your carousel interpretation. I like how you managed all the pollen pods within the DOF also.
