Heron Family Portrait

Nothing to extreme here, the Heron photo is pretty much as shot, but the background was a cloudless grey overcast day, so I played with Studio Artist 4.0 to change the background.

Interesting image Mike. I'm still pondering it.

Mike, this is a collage, right?
Aside from the question, the bg colors go well together with the image to make an interesting piece.

Love it Mike! My only suggestion... the tallest of the heron's head kisses the dark edge of the background. Would like to see a separation. Otherwise... striking!!!

Hi Wayne,

No, it is not a collage, the heron image is pretty much as shot in one take. Used a canon 600mm with a 2x tc., I was in three feet of water in a swamp at the time.

Nice job Mike. I really like the overall colour way. Like the rhyming of colours between the herons and the bg. The only nit is the bg directly behind the center heron is too solid a colour for my eyes and provides a bit of distraction. However that just my paltry $.02 worth and maybe not worth that much.

Added some additional head room on the taller heron as several have suggested

Dramatic color pallet Mike, and although the colors are not what I would think of using, they are bold and I like their tonal range :toast:
