Red-necked Grebe & chick

Another of my recent captures from NW Montana. This image was taken on Echo Lake Southeast of Kalispell from my Brother-in-Law's boat. I would have liked a little catch light on the female but couldn't find it from my POV. I opted for a wider crop to show off the colors of the lake-not sure how well that worked.

Your comments are always appreciated, and thanks fo taking a look.

Getting the two of them - Terrific. I like the texture of the water and the reflection.

Nice, Chuck. I do like the lake colors. It looks like the light was getting pretty high at this point. :toast:

Chuck,
I like the beautiful colors and the choice of a wider crop. Well done.

Chuck,

I would love to see a Red-necked Grebe and finding one with a chick would be great too! I think your choice of a pano crop worked well with the elongated body shape of the birds and the reflection of the adult adds interest. The stripes on the chicks head are neat. The only thing I might do with this image is pull down the exposure a small amount, that would add a little richness to the plumage colors of the adult.
