Ice Cave
by Larry Fischer
Taken last month in northern Alaska, south slope of the Brooks Range, Matthews River drainage.
Motored and then pulled canoes to our destination. Weather was quite foggy and it rained a lot. Therefore "light" was not readily available.
I hiked into the mountains to get a different perspective.
This was a cave above a 15 foot waterfall [tedious climbing] and as I walked by I felt the very cool air wafting from the entrance. I went in and saw the ice.
The upper right portion on full size viewing shows a slight blur.

6 commentsPerhaps more of a "novelty" shot [discovery if you will of a secret place] than good photography.
I have some other close-in shots of nooks and crannies from the area that are perhaps not as mach of a snapshot, ie more planned.

No tripod.
I had enough stuff in my pack burning about 5,000 calories a day... but your point is well taken.
And is one really a photographer without a tripod??? !!!
