I have been looking though some work from last year in Florida and came across this one. I managed to get a good sequence of image but they get a bit messy.

Thanks for looking

Terrific! I've seen pictures of gators and pictures of frogs. Glad to see them interacting. I guess the frog wasn't so glad. Looks like a small gator and a really big frog. Cool picture.

I wonder what happens when Buck calls a meeting to "interact", YIKES! I love this photo, lots of color and although a little gruesome the upside down frog strikes me as a bit comical, sorry Kermit. I also like the exposure, great detail in the shadows even. One small nit, I would like to see a little more room on the right side for the neck - personal preference.

 Spectacular shot Colin, to say the least! Great light, exposure, clarity and colors as well. A tiny bit more room all around is the only improvement I can think of really. Excellent work. :toast:

Great shot! A gruesome, fascinating picture taken with a perfect technique. The open eyes of the frog strike at the heart.

I agree with the desire for a touch more space, but that upside down frog is perfectly exposed and adds a huge element of raw emotional power to this image. Good work.

Awesome shot! You can even see the poor frog's lung exposed by the alligator's teeth... :frown:

Well done Colin. What an privilege to bear witness to this brutality, well to us perhaps. In any case, more room for me, otherwise spot on; perfect mate.

Awesome. You captured the action and the victim perfectly. Agree that it could use a bit more room too.

The thing I find so interesting about this - other than the great stop action and the clarity - is that this gruesome event looks so very clean. I imagine the remainder of the sequence... not so much.

Great shot!

Thank you all very much for all the kind words and comments some of you have a great sense of humour. For those who prefer a little more room I have posted a new version there is a tad more available but the detail starts to diminish in such a small file size, when printed the full size version can go big and looks amazing.
What struck me when photographing this little guy was how acted exactly like a full grown adult although it took him some time to turn the frog around because the legs were outside of his jaws and he could not swallow the frog down

Thanks again :toast:

I think Marco said it best for me. Heart-rending the pose and look of the victim. A most excellent photograph. Congratulations. What a thrill to get a capture like that.

I'm late to the party, but I like the the intensity and immediacy of the first shot a lot better than the repost. On the first, I might add a little room on the right side so you get all of the gator and frog leg in the shot and maybe a very little room to the bottom and right. But I wouldn't go nearly so far as the repost, as I think it adds distracting elements. Superb shot!
