This is the stack from which I stole one image that became
Sawtooth Serration. Ah, shame on me. I do thank all of you for the comments that you made, and I hope that you like the whole stack even better.
Somewhere in my reading, someone said, it's better to overshoot than undershoot, and that's true. When I went back to the stack, I discovered that 4 of the original images needed to be eliminated.
This image is 90% of what I envisioned. I didn't capture the one almost perpendicular petal very well, but since about 50% of the image is soft, I think it still works fairly well.
I used the 70-200mm lens with the Canon 500D diopter. The images were all shot at 160mm, f/2.8, 1/60s, ISO 200, -.7 EV, spot meter, tripod, MLU, cable release. There were 11 images in the stack. Processing was done with Helicon Focus and Photoshop.
What continues to surprise me is how the same subject can be photographed so many different ways.

And I'm sure I'm speaking to the choir LOL
A fun project with a bit of frustration.
Hope you like it even better than
Sawtooth Serration.
Thanks for your suggestions and ideas. They inspire me.

15 commentsI like how some areas show "fluidity" (actually the inability of the stacking software to interpret gaps) and that immensely helps in this case with this abstract.
