Sunset Surf

This little sunset scene was taken on Inverness Beach in Nova Scotia in October 2009. One month from now I will be heading out to visit my favorite beach once again...... can't wait!

Thanks for your comments and critiques on my last post. Hope you enjoy this one. Thanks for looking. I know this is not a popular spot of others on NPN, but there is a lot of beauty to behold here as well as some truely eeire light. Maybe because it is not so much visited, it makes it even more special to me. It is not the outrageously beautiful NW or Canadian Rockies, nor grand deserts of the SW, nor beautiful CA coast, nor Scotland which I long to visit..... but this place has a special beauty for me that makes me go back year after year. But then again, it is MY place that I feel so connected to...... Thanks for looking!

Wow, Eva, you may have held the best for last! So many wonderful elements to look at in this beauty. Ethereal yet grounded. The contrast in texture between the rocks and the water is fantastic. Then there is the marvelous color. :toast: :toast:

Phenomenal image Eva. The light on the rocks, sand, and sea together with the fog.... gorgeous. Love everything about this.

Hard to believe that Nova Scotia could look anything but cold. This image has a uncharateristic warmth to it. I can almost imagine the mist as steam. Neat image Eva very different.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments..... It was a bitterly damp, cold evening though the light looks warm. I remember my hands went numb several times and I had to concentrate on getting them un-numb so I could press the shutter. ...but that is Cape Breton in the autumn.....

A beauty, Eva! I love the painterly effect and how the pebbles catch the light is just amazing.

Great work!

Eva! This may be your best ever! I can't really tell if that's water of clouds in the background and don't even care. It's gorgeous. Trimming the thin orange line at the top makes it even more abstract IMO.

Definitely one of your best Eva! I love your effect on the water, the reflection eminating from the rocks, and the softness of the sand. Great piece of work. Great colors too.

Eva,

This is incredibly gorgeous! The colors reflecting off the shimmering stones and the abstract nature of the surf is engaging and compelling. I'm all over this one. Up there with your best as others have mentioned.

Beautiful! I first I couldn't tell if I was looking at sky or waves (I’m going with waves). The colors are amazing and I really like the detail in the fg rocks.

Wow just lovely Eva. This has a mellow vibe to it all the way through. Great colors and softness.
I usually wouldn't push for orton in most instances but can almost see a little of it on the bottom half sand to really make this even dreamier. Of course thats a stretch but might be worth a try

Great job though, I like it

Rudy -I did crop out the sky on this one based on some comments I receveived a while back on a similar image. Thanks.

Anthony - I did apply a little glow with TK's actions. Not sure I want to push it further.

Thanks all for your comments and critiques. Welcome and appreciated.

Fascinating scene, Eva. I am struck by the contrast between the stones and the water/sky interaction in the background. Lovely in every sense. I look forward to seeing more of your work from these beaches.

Really wonderful. Love how the misted water and sky merge.
