Image two from my Mercer Arboretum venture Saturday. I got a bunch of keepers of the water lilies and especially liked how these two were positioned. Not sure if the sun lit up the lily or the lily lit up the sun. All comments welcome. >=))>

A lovely pair beautifully sharp and vibrant. Comp is interesting too, I like it.

Bill,

I practically never see a shot with an echo that works for me. Of course because of your composition and dof decision it works perfectly here. Beautiful colors, perfect whites, an interesting and supporting gradient in the bg. Masterful work and image.

Love the background echoing Lily, Bill.

Not sure how you cropped this; however, if there's more to the flowers on either side, this might have made a great giant square format.

A little different for you.

Angled lines are great.

Beautiful light and colour, Bill. I do like these shots with a second flower in the bg - everything is somehow beautifully balanced.

Beautiful colors and composition. The center reminds me of a sea anemone. It is also perfectly sharp :toast:

Gorgeous lillies here Bill. I am always drawn to the centers of these flowers for some reason and these are nicely shown here. Like the echo effect.

Ummmmmm, I like it Bill. Beautiful color, great detail. Really nice how the BG lily supports the FG one. Nice use of the polarizer. Very well seen and taken.

Wow  . That's a stunning rendition of the Water Lily - center seems to glow. The one in the background is perfectly handled without being a distraction. Lovely !

Hey, Bill, I can't believe I'm about to nit one of your images... But how about cropping down below the white streak at the top of the frame?

Boy, do I love the subject flower! What really caught my eye was the flower center with the curling-in, contrasted with the spikey petals radiating outward. And of course the color combination is unbeatable along with the comp (well, except for that white line...). :wavey:

The larger image is almost scary. Those fingers or whatever they are look designed to hold prey in, but then I always let my imagination run a little wild. Beautiful image Bill, very nice colors and tack sharp of course.

Paul

I think I like the Santa Fe 2-10-2's but my favorite is the Cab Forward Southern Pacific 2-8-8-4 articulated.
