After seeing Mauro's recent Orton shot I remembered that its been a long time since I played around with the technique and then as I was organizing my 2010 favorites I came across this shot of a red tipped English daisy I took in the Spring but forgot about. All comments welcome.>=))>

17 commentsYes, Chaos, but controlled.
I know you're not that much into extraneous processing, but can't help but make the following suggestion. The purple/magenta out at the edges on the left and upper half of the right drag the eye away from that marvelous subject. I would love to see those colors transformed into off whites. And I would love to see that OOF red petal on the left replaced with one of the other petals.
This has so much going for it, that I would love to see a couple of trouble areas disappeared

The Orton effect must be mild because its not very apparent here.

You have transformed this chaotic image to convey energy and dynamism in this image; such control in your composition!
