Eruption of Daisy Geyser

Hi Folks,
I've been busy, so haven't posted in awhile. This is an image I recovered from a 'corrupted' CF card using Lexar Image Rescue 4. It's certainly not a contest winner, but it is a keeper and was one of those "right place, right time" moments that would have been a shame to lose. This is in the Old Faithful Geyser Basin in Yellowstone.

Canon 5DII. 25-105. ISO 100. f/16. 1/90 sec. See LARGER VERSION for best detail

I have never seen a geyser so it's always interesting to me how folks compose them into the landscape. I thought from the thumbnail it was some foggy or cloud type conditions. Pretty neat and the rich blues going along nicely with this. Weird to see snow but Im diggin it.

Pretty shot, maybe not the best possible comp (fg doesnt grab me as much as the geyser)but obviously time is of the essence with geyers! Definitely a keeper.

I wonder if a few steps forward (if possible :) ) so the smaller lumps of snow/ice were the start of the shot may have been stronger. I really quite like the lone plant in the middle of the shot though, its quite effective.

This is a very nice image of Yellowstone Doug. The blues in the sky and the pure whites of the snow are pleasing to look at. The soft light works well in these geothermal areas. I like your comp too....Very pretty. :wavey:
