Nice duck Ron. Getting images of flying ducks is not easy. You have done well here and I find the face to the neck pretty sharp. Beyond the neck on my monitor in both small and large are slightly blurred. BG is OK.

Greetings, Ron...I like just about everything about this image. It does look to be ever so slightly soft in the body and wings. Perhaps you could do a little local sharpening to pull the feather details a little bit more. Otherwise this is a very nice BIF image.

Another beautiful flight shot Ron. The background with the OOF gold reeds is stunning. It's what makes it for me!! Well done Ron. I think I like this one even better than the first post.

Ron, your duck photos blow me away. This is one of the best imho, love the sharpness on the duck and the separation of the duck from the background while still hinting at the marsh habitat.

As always, thanks, everyone, for your comments. As you know I take them to heart and always use them to improve my images and photography skills. A couple people have mentioned that the body and wings look a bit soft compared to the head and neck. Critical sharpness has always been a tough thing for me to judge. I think I am getting a lot better at it. In the full-sized version of the image where you can really, really see all the detail, the whole bird is pretty darn sharp. I just don't see getting it much sharper. Sometimes feather patterns on bird's can play tricks, maybe that is what is happening here on the smaller versions I posted. Anyway. I do not think I will mess with this processing job, but as always keep the critical comments coming. They, at the minimum, make me take a second look. Cheers.

I agree, I think this one is even better than the last. Love the light, and the great bg. Sharpness in the larger version appears excellent to my eye. The pose here is really outstanding--the stretching neck, pointing wings, and lowered feet are a great combo. I like this a lot, Ron.

Another fine in flight Ron! I think I saw you at the Wetlands Saturday morning around 8:30 or so! Was that you to the left of the entrance and your Truck in the parking lot? By the time i came back around you were gone.
Nice job on the flight shot once again!

Good forequarter perspective and wing position, and I like the nicely blurred habitat. Looks sharp to me.

Great wing position Ron - feet too. Very nice background and this is my kind of composition. I think sharpness on the entire bird is very good. I don't expect to see incredible detail when the feathers are wet, as these are. I like this very much.
