1D mk iv, 600mm f4, 1/100s, f8, iso 800. Overcast morning light.

These creatures are highly entertaining to watch and I love the cheeky look on this fellow's face! He'll be growing tufts on his ears for the winter soon.

He is nice and sharp and has an endearing expression. He stands out well from the background.
There seems to be a 'hole' in the middle of the photo though. The squirrel and the log sort of frame....nothing.

As you say Ian, great to watch and I hope to see them in Scotland later in the year.I like the pose and composition of the image and the woody type background looks realistic to me.I see you have got a new camera, it's obviously working well, this image is really sharp. Graham

I like his (I think it's actually a her) expression. The details are nice and sharp here. Quick question: since I'm not too familiar with the species, is his coat that colorful and saturated?

Nice pose, detail, color, and BG. I also like the way the branch "cradles" the subject. Agree with Nicola on the magenta.

Beautiful colors and detail on the subject Ian and that BG is super smooth. I understand the comment made about the composition with that branch on the left and the subject on the right, although it does not bother me much. The magenta on the tree is well spotted. :toast:

The larger version gives the final touch:great details an i like the squirrel pose. IMO that green in the BLC need to be desaturated . cheers Luca
