Patient Heron

I observed this Green Heron at the Nat'l Wildlife Refuge for over 3 hours as he patiently stood in one spot. Eventually his patience, sharp eyes and lightning reflexes yielded a breakfast of 2 large frogs and a dragonfly that flew too close to his beak.

Larger version available, thanks for viewing!

I think many of us were sometimes frustrated after waiting for a lot of time that a heron was shaken from its paralysis.
Nice portrait, beautiful perch.
Colors apper a little oversaturated on my monitor.

Hope we get to see this bird with his frogs and dragonfly. The colors seem to be oversaturated. An easy fix.

Great pose and perch, Craig. To my eye, this looks like it might be a bit oversharpened. :toast:

Gotta love the Green Heron. The background it a bit distracting with the harsh light reflections. Love the perch and the pose though. Prefer the saturation some where in between the two images.
