This is a photograph of Lake O'Hara in Yoho B.C. unfortunatly it was rainy and cloudy weather the whole time so I didnt get the best of light. This was the only shot I got of the lake with blue sky. Such an incredible place in Canada you have to book this camp site 3 months ahead of time or you wont get a spot.

I like the moodiness here Simon. I visted Yoho in 2009 but did not get the opportunity to get to Lake O'Hara. Sometimes, blue sky does not matter.

Nice eye for this foreground. It's almost its own image.

That foreground really does keep the eye intrigued, there's a lot of wood in there!

Simon,

Have to agree with previous comments that the foreground is pretty compelling and I think worthy of standing on it's own. The little patch of blue is a welcome addition no doubt, but I think with the clouds obscuring much of the mountain, that the elements above the shoreline aren't adding much to the scene. I think an interesting alternative would be a complete crop of the mountain and sky, just leaving enough of the shoreline interest to complete the framing.

Speaking of the shoreline, after I post this I'm going to go ahead and move this to Man & Nature. It's border line in terms of significance, but the cabins on the far shore are hard to ignore. Hope you understand. Feel free to drop a note to one of the mods if you have any questions. Thanks for understanding.

I think a bluer sky would have done more harm than good here. The clouds really set the mood. There does appear to be a cw tilt.
